The seventh distribution of the Waste Workers Emergency Relief Project was successfully conducted in three different sites. We reached a total of 154 waste workers who were provided with ration packages along with protective jumpsuits and medicines.
The distributions in all three sites were conducted in the facilitation of Blue Waste 2 Value. The first distribution was conducted in Kirtipur for 112 waste workers. Among the 112 waste workers, 80 were provided with ration materials and 32 with protective jumpsuits. For the second distribution in Durbarmarg, 23 waste workers were reached out with ration materials and protective jumpsuit. 10 waste workers were provided with ration whereas 13 were provided with protective jumpsuits. For the final distribution of the day at Ratopul, 19 waste workers were provided with ration materials.
Along with the distribution, awareness was provided to all the waste workers on proper hand washing, use and removal of gloves and masks and reusable sanitary pads. The medical officer also demonstrated the recipients of the protective jumpsuits on the right way to wear and remove it.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Blue Waste 2 Value, Nabin Maharjan expressed his gratitude to CREASION and The Coca-Cola Foundation on acknowledging the contribution of the waste workers and providing them with assistance during this time of the pandemic.
The Founder and President of CREASION, Aanand Mishra was also present for the distribution.
The project is still in continuation and aims to reach to a total of 3200 waste workers and ease their livelihood.
