Waste Workers Emergency Relief Project Day 6

On May 26, 2020, CREASION in support of The Coca-Cola Foundation reached out to 157 waste workers in Bhaktapur and Kathmandu through the Waste Workers Emergency Relief Project. The distribution consisted of ration package enough for waste workers and their families with an average size of five for one month, information and awareness materials, medicines and other safety gear such as masks, gloves along with Protective Jumpsuits.

The first distribution was conducted in Bhaktapur in the facilitation of Doko Recyclers where 16 waste workers were provided with ration materials and 11 were provided with protective jumpsuits. The second distribution of the day was conducted in Bhaktapur under the facilitation of the local government where 30 waste workers were provided with protective jumpsuits.

 

The last distribution of the day was conducted in Rastriya Sabha Griha in the presence of the Mayor of Kathmandu, Mr. Bidhya Sundar Shakya, Founder and President of CREASION, Mr. Aanand Mishra and representatives from Bottlers Nepal Limited: Coca-Cola Nepal. Protective jumpsuits including medical materials for 100 waste workers were handed over in their presence. This distribution was conducted in the facilitation of the local government as well.

The distribution was accompanied by awareness session by our medical officer including a thorough demonstration on the use and removal of the protective jumpsuit.

The sixth distribution in all the sites was very fulfilling for the entire team since the beneficiaries expressed their sincere gratitude for the assistance.
