Skills for All: Empower+ held at Nepal Mega College

The 13th chapter of Empower+ was conducted by Volunteer for Change (VFC) at Nepal Mega College, Babermahal in partnership with Oli & Associates. A total of 32 third-year students of Bachelors in Social Work participated in the workshop from 24th December to 26th December.

The workshop was divided into 3- days and included skill enhancement sessions and guest lecture series by experts of various fields. The students were provided training on the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint which allowed them to be more familiar with the technical know-how required in their academic as well professional life. A session on Report Writing was facilitated by Ms. Mandira Raut of Utsah Learning Centre where the participants were taught about the dos and don’ts of the document along with a basic format of reports.

Other sessions included CV and Cover Letter Writing, Email Etiquettes, Job Interview Techniques and Elevator Pitch. The sessions were accompanied by fun group activities that helped the participants be more acquainted with the various skills. A personality development session was also taken by Mr. Rajan Koirala where he highlighted the importance of and the ways to build a good personality.

The event concluded on 26th December 2019 with positive response and feedback from all participants. The workshop also awarded certificates to the attendees during the final day.
