Relevance of Mahatma Gandhi Today

Under the leadership of Mr. Pradeep Giri, Member of Parliament, Nepal, a symposium titled ‘GANDHI TODAY’ was collaboratively organized by the Centre for Research and Sustainable Development Nepal (CREASION), Nepal Policy Centre (NPC) and the Gandhian Studies and Peace Centre on 29th of November at Nepal Administrative Staff College, Jawlakhel, Lalitpur. A symposium which was organized on the occasion of 150th Gandhi Jayanti tried to explore the relevance of Gandhi in the context of Nepal.

The Chief Guest of the event was Hon’ble Rt. Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, former President of Nepal and key participants of the event were Mr. Yashwant Sinha, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, India; Ambassador of India to Nepal, Mr. Manjeev Singh Puri; Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, former Prime Minister of Nepal; Mr. Bimalendra Nidhi from Nepali Congress; Mr. Ram Karki from Nepal Communist Party and Mr. Dammannath Dhungana, former Member of Parliament, Nepal. The event formally began with Professor Vandana Mishra, Advisor to CREASION who presented her paper on Gandhi.

The Master of Ceremonies for the event was Mr. Rupesh Shrestha and the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Pradip Pariyar, Chairperson of NPC and Board of Director of CREASION.
