On the 15th of December 2018, VFC (Volunteer for Change) organized a Heritage Walk to Basantapur. The main motto of this event was to help the participants gain knowledge about cultural, historical background of an ancient place of Kathmandu known as Basantapur. Our guide for this heritage walk was a heritage entrepreneur Mr. Hrishav Raj Joshi . Besides having different schedules 15 of us managed to meet early in the morning at 8:45 a.m. on Basantapur.
Starting with a small introductory session we hit ourselves in the streets of Basantapur. We visited ‘ Kumari Ghar’ , Bahals , Kastha Mandap , Dhunge Dhara which all have their own significance and history. We ended our journey in front of the Bhairav Temple.
By this event we not only got an opportunity to gain knowledge about the historical and cultural aspect of Basantapur but also got an opportunity to meet new people. VFC organizes Herritage Walk every month so we hope to see you guys on the next event at some other place.
