CREASION with the support of The Coca-Cola Foundation, organized 'Hamro Cycle Yatra' rally on June 3rd, 2023. The rally commenced from Khula Manch and navigated through Durbarmaarg, Naxal Bhagwati, Putalisadak, NAC, culminating back at Khula Manch. The annual "Hamro Cycle Yatra #DignityforAll" event serves as a remarkable platform to publicly acknowledge and honor the invaluable contributions of waste workers in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. The rally, attended by approximately 300 participants, achieved resounding success as it garnered the presence of esteemed dignitaries.
The event was graced by prominent figures such as Mr. Surendra Basnet, Vice President of National Youth Council, Mr. Aanand Mishra, Founder and President of CREASION, Ms. Sujata Koirala, General Secretary of CREASION, Ms. Sneh Rajbhandari, Communications and Sustainability Director of Bottlers Nepal Limited, Ms. Keki Adhikari, Actor, Goodwill Ambassador and Board member of CREASION, Mr. Rajesh Kalwar, Vice President of Nepal Recollectors and Recyclers Association, Mr. Binod Upreti, Secretary of Nepal Recollectors and Recyclers Association (NRRA) and Ms. Shilpa Maskey, Actor.
The rally, held with great enthusiasm, culminated at Khula manch, where the distinguished guests addressed the gathering in a formal ceremony. The event also offered additional support to the waste workers by organizing a medical camp, providing them with much-needed eye and dental checkups, all free of cost. This thoughtful initiative aimed to ensure the well-being and overall health of these dedicated individuals who play a crucial role in our society. The Hamro Cycle Yatra rally serves as a powerful symbol of unity, drawing together various stakeholders including government bodies, private institutions, youth organizations, and waste workers. This collective gathering aims to acknowledge the pressing environmental challenges faced by our nation while simultaneously celebrating the extraordinary contributions of waste workers in upholding a clean and sustainable environment.
The National Youth Council Vice President, Mr. Surendra Basnet, shared his insightful thoughts on the importance of waste workers in our society and our responsibility as citizens to recognize thier contributions towards keeping our environment clean.
The stage was open to the waste workers who wanted to share their thoughts, opinions and experiences. Member from Nepal Recollectors and Recycler Association took upon the stage to share the struggles and contributions of waste workers.
Mr. Aanand Mishra, Founder and President of CREASION also shared the story behind the start of Hamro Cycle Yatra in 2010 and the value and importance behind it.
The program ended with an entertaining and fun-filled activities.
