As a part of the Empowering Youths Towards a Zero Waste Workshop, CREASION with support of WWF Nepal, conducted a Door-to-Door Waste Inspection of houses in Ratnanagar-6 and Ratnanagar-7 in Sauraha, Chitwan on September 20. The inspection was conducted to understand how households manage their waste and provide them with feedbacks for waste segregation.
All households inspected had segregated their household waste into degradable and non-biodegradable. The degradable waste is disposed in their farms and gardens that serve as vital nutrients for the crops and non-degradable waste are collected by the municipality once or twice a week.
Some households separated the glass bottles that are occasionally collected by some waste collectors. Others were informed that glass could be collected by these waste collectors and that PET bottles could also be further segregated and provided to waste collectors.
